The Newark Museum of Art in Newark, New Jersey, will be hosting a screening of “Hildreth Meière Designs for Washington, D.C.” and “Hildreth Meière Restoring an Art Deco Mural” of October 1, 2022 at 2:00pm ET. Meière was one of the trailblazing women who shaped the art and design of the SS United States.

In celebration of the success of our inaugural digital exhibition, Advertising the United States: Discovering America's Flagship through Prints, Posters, and Advertisements, the SS United States Conservancy has put together an exciting and engaging panel discussion. Opulent Crossings: Post War Tourism, Advertising, and Design will bring together scholars and curators from multiple disciplines to present on their research while thinking about it in conjunction to our digital exhibition.
